      Spread the love

This is episode 2 and we’re glad to have you with us. Let’s start with a recap.

On episode 1 Hannah, Sophie and Jasmine came up with three things that kindness meant – Hannah – kindness means sharing, Sophie – kindness means helping, Jasmine – kindness means being considerate and doing nice things for each other.

Today we are discussing The SuperFamily Value of honesty.

We are going to talk about telling the truth and accepting the blame even if it was an accident or we regret doing it in the first place.

We are going to talk about integrity, which means doing what we say we are going to do, even if we don’t really want to do it.

We are going to talk about taking personal responsibility to do the right thing and, if we don’t, accepting the consequences.

Let’s ask the girls some questions and then I’d like you to discuss your answers as a family.

Can you think of one example of a lie you told so you wouldn’t get into trouble?

Can you think of one example of a lie you told because you didn’t want to do something?

Why is it important to tell the truth, to be honest?

If one of your family members or friends lied to you over and over again and you found out, do you think you would lose trust in them and think they were lying even when they were actually telling the truth?

Being honest and telling the truth isn’t always the easy option, and may not feel like the best thing for you in the moment, but it’s a really important habit of real life SuperHeroes, parents and kids who want to live happily together. And just like almost everything, you get stronger and better at it with practice. The same goes for telling lies and fibs, and that is something you definitely don’t want to become good at because it eventually hurts you and others, the opposite of what a superhero strives to do.

So your questions today to discuss SuperFamily are –

What is one example of a lie you told so you wouldn’t get into trouble?

What is one example of a lie you told because you didn’t want to do something?

Why is it important to tell the truth, to be honest?

This is Jarrod, Hannah, Sophie and Jasmine.
